How Daybook works

One visit. Two views.

Everything on Daybook runs through the visit record. The provider keeps it as they work; the owner receives it the moment the visit ends. Same record, both sides — that's the whole idea.

What the provider logs
The routine

The checklist comes from Mochi's own care plan — meals, litter, play — so nothing is left to memory.

As it happens

Checked off during the visit, not reconstructed at the end of the day.

Timestamped photos

Any step can carry a photo — stamped with the moment it was taken, not added later.

What the owner receives
Right away

The report lands in your portal and inbox when the visit ends — not at the end of the week.

Written like a note

It opens with a sentence about your animal, not a form. The data is underneath, exact.

On record

Every visit stays in the record — browse back months, visit by visit.

For pet parents

Know your pet is in good hands — then know how it went.

Search

Search by what your pet actually needs.

Filter by service — a Saturday groom, a week of walks, overnight sitting — plus dates and neighborhood. Availability is real: providers set their capacity, and search respects it. No calling five places to find one open slot. And if your pet needs medication, one filter shows only providers who can give it.

Request, follow, pay — in one place.

Propose a visit — or just grab an open slot: providers publish real bookable times, and returning clients take them instantly, no approval round-trip. Reports arrive as they happen, invoices arrive itemized, and you can pay online in two taps — or however your provider prefers.

The pet record

Your pet's record belongs to you.

Vaccines, medications, behavior notes and vet contacts — kept once, owned by you, and attached to every request you send, so a new provider knows exactly what Biscuit needs before saying yes.

You decide who sees it. Sharing is per provider and revocable any time.

Your instructions

Your care notes become the checklist.

Write your own checklist items, or drop in a care document — a vet's discharge sheet, your feeding routine — and Daybook turns it into action cards on the provider's visit checklist. You review what it parsed; nothing is guessed.

Want eyes on something? Mark a card and it comes back with a timestamped photo.

Messages

Every conversation, where the booking is.

One thread per client — and the booking's paper trail lives inside the conversation. Requests, date changes, meet & greet times and photos interleave with the messages, so “wait, what did we agree?” has an answer you can scroll to.

Leaving town? One tap lets your vet know who's covering and shares the record they'd need if anything comes up.

For providers

Run the whole day from one page — whatever kind of care you give.

Sitting, walking, boarding, daycare, grooming, training — every service starts as a template and bends to how you actually work: your fields, your checklists, your rates. Less admin, more of the day with the animals.

Sitting & drop-ins

Checklists built from each pet's care plan, a report sent the moment you're done.

Dog walking

Recurring plans — Mon–Fri 12:30, set once — with GPS-verified check-ins on Pro.

Boarding

Overnight stays with nightly rates, capacity caps, and multi-day invoices that add themselves up.

Daycare

Daily headcount limits that search respects — and staff seats when it's not just you.

Grooming

Your own intake fields — coat condition, clipper lengths — on every appointment, with before & after photos.

Training

Session notes and homework land on the owner's report, so progress is on the record.

01Claim your page

Pick your corner: daybook.pet/p/you. Two minutes.

02Start from templates

Pick your services, set your rates. Sensible defaults, working day one.

03Make it yours, forever

Rename anything, add fields and checklist items, price per client. No ceiling.

Scheduling & agenda

Today, at a glance.

Every visit on one agenda — one-off or recurring. Set a plan like walks, Mon–Fri 12:30 once and Daybook keeps the schedule; reschedule or cancel a day without breaking the series.

And you don't just block time — you open slots: paint the hours you want booked, per service, and they go live on your page for clients to take. When you're already in a neighborhood with time between visits, Daybook suggests a neighbor slot — one more client at almost no travel cost.

Care plans & checklists

Every pet's routine, kept exactly.

Each pet's care plan — meals, walks, litter, the occasional pill — becomes the visit checklist automatically. You check it off as you go, attach a timestamped photo to any step, and it all flows straight onto the owner's report. Nothing reconstructed from memory at the end of the day.

Caring for diabetic or senior pets? Switch on the clinical layer for timed, logged medication — there when a client needs it, invisible when they don't.

Billing & payments

Invoices that write themselves.

Generate an invoice from a client's unbilled completed visits, priced by each service's rate — or by the client's own rate. Grandfather your longtime regulars, set holiday pricing, or keep one flat fee: the rate card is yours, per service and per client.

Clients pay online through the portal — or hand you cash, Venmo or a check, and you mark it paid. Both are first-class; card data never touches Daybook.

And unlike booking-page-only tools, your page is also a listing in Daybook's marketplace search — Daybook brings the demand, not just the software. Publishing is free on every plan; see how the marketplace pays for itself, or click through the live tools below.

The tools, live

See the desk your provider works at.

Every Daybook provider runs their day on this — the same app that writes the report waiting in your inbox after every visit. It's running right here with sample data: open Schedule to see how your visits are planned, then Requests to watch a booking become a checklist, a report, and an itemized invoice. When a provider says they're on Daybook, this is what they mean.

Don't take our word for it — click around.

This is the provider desktop, running right here with sample data. Open Schedule for the agenda — and the Open slots view, where you paint bookable hours — then Requests for the inbox and message thread: approve a request, propose meet & greet times, build an invoice.

The marketplace

Real providers, real availability — and never a fee for you.

Search by service, dates and what your pet actually needs. Results rank on real availability and verified reviews — never on who paid for placement. And the price you see is the provider's own: no booking fees, no markups, nothing added.

01 · the search

Say what you need.

A Saturday groom, a week of walks, medication on board — filter by what your pet needs, in your neighborhood, on your dates. Availability is real: providers set their capacity, and search respects it.

02 · the request

Your pet's record does the talking.

Every request carries the record you keep — routines, meds, quirks, vet contacts — so a provider can say yes knowing exactly what Biscuit needs. No intake forms, no re-typing.

03 · the relationship

Book once, keep them.

Rebook your favorites in a tap — real open slots, no approval round-trip. A written report after every visit, invoices itemized, payment in two taps.

Why it's free: when Daybook's marketplace brings a provider a brand-new client, the provider pays a one-time match fee on that first booking — that funds the matchmaking. Pet parents never pay Daybook anything: no service fees, no markups, no tip screens.

Or flip it — open requests

Don't want to search? Post what you need — service, dates, neighborhood, your pet's record attached — and matched providers come to you with offers: a real rate and real slots. Only providers with the capability and the capacity to actually do the work can respond, and nothing ranks by cheapest. You pick.

Demand built in — on terms that respect your business.

Your storefront doubles as a listing in Daybook search. When the marketplace brings you a brand-new client, Daybook takes a one-time match fee on that first booking — that's what funds finding them. Every booking after is direct, and direct means 0%.

01 · the find

They find you.

A pet parent searches by service, dates and what their pet needs. Your page ranks on real availability and verified reviews — not on who paid for placement.

02 · the match first booking only

One match fee.

Daybook's cut of that first booking pays for the demand that found them — and that's the only cut it ever takes. No commission hiding in your subscription.

03 · forever after

Your client. 0%.

They rebook you direct — your rates (per client, if you like), your invoices, your relationship. Daybook never charges for them again.

The contrast: a marketplace like Rover takes the same 20% on the first booking and the forty-first. Daybook charges once, because after the match the client is yours — on the books, in your records, paying you directly. For pet parents nothing changes: no fees, no markups — the price you see is the provider's.

Or flip it — open requests

Don't want to search? Post what you need — service, dates, neighborhood, your pet's record attached — and matched providers come to you with offers: a real rate and real slots. Offers, not bids: only providers with the capability and the capacity to actually do the work can respond, and nothing ranks by cheapest. You pick; the match fee works the same.

Trust & safety

Trust, the way a record-keeper builds it.

No vague guarantees. Daybook's answer to “can I trust this person with my animal?” is verification you can check, labels that don't exaggerate, and a record of every visit.

A real business, on the record

Providers publish under their real name and business identity, and those who take payment online are identity-checked by Stripe before a dollar moves. Every claim on a storefront sits next to the record that backs it.

Credentials, labeled honestly

Insured & bonded, pet first-aid, vet-tech background — shown as declared by the provider, verified where we can. Daybook never blurs the difference.

Proof on every visit

Timestamped checklists, photos from the moment, GPS-verified check-ins — and reviews that only exist after a real visit. Trust built from records, not stars.

Ready for the bad day

The pet's record carries vet and emergency contacts and a vet-release consent you control — and one tap tells your vet who's covering while you're away.

Payments run through Stripe — card data never touches Daybook, and nothing is charged until a request is approved.

Verified-visit reviews

Reviews you can take literally.

A review on Daybook can only be written after a completed, verified visit. No imported stars, no anonymous drive-bys from people who never booked — if it's on a provider's page, it happened. Read it like a reference you can actually check.

A review on Daybook can only be written after a completed, verified visit. No imported stars, no anonymous drive-bys from people who never booked you — if it's on a provider's page, it happened. Your reputation, finally off Google and on the record.

The field

You shouldn't have to choose between demand and a business.

Marketplaces bring you clients, then charge you for them on every booking, forever — and the relationship stays theirs. Booking tools give you software and leave the finding-clients part to you. Daybook is built to be both, with a proof layer neither has.

Marketplaces · Rover, Wag, Meowtel Booking tools · Scritches & others Daybook
Who brings the clients They do — that's the draw. You do. The page only works if you already have the audience. Both doors — marketplace search, and your own page at daybook.pet/p/you.

Whose client is it Theirs — taking a client off-platform is against the terms. Yours. Yours — your storefront, your records, export everything any time.
Proof of care Photo updates and star ratings. Report cards. Timestamped, GPS-verified reports — and reviews that only exist after a completed visit.

Questions, answered plainly

The fine print, out loud.

What does Daybook cost a pet parent?+

Nothing, ever. No booking fees, no markups, no subscription. The price on a provider's page is what you pay — providers fund Daybook through their software plans and a one-time match fee.

What exactly is a visit report?+

A written note from your provider, sent the moment the visit ends — what was done, when, with timestamped photos. It opens with a sentence about your animal, not a form, and every report stays in the record.

Who can see my pet's record?+

Only providers you share it with. Sharing is per provider and revocable any time — the record belongs to you and travels with you, even if you leave.

How do I pay?+

Online through your portal in two taps when your provider offers it — payments run through Stripe, and card data never touches Daybook — or pay them directly and they mark it settled. Nothing is charged until a request is approved.

What happens if something goes wrong while I'm away?+

Your pet's record carries vet and emergency contacts and a vet-release consent you control — and one tap tells your vet who's covering and shares the record they'd need.

Do I need to download an app?+

No — your portal runs in the browser, from a link. It installs to your home screen like an app if you want it there.

What does the match fee actually cost?+

A one-time 30% of the first booking a brand-new marketplace client makes with you — and nothing on any booking after that, ever. A $60 first booking costs $18, once, for a client relationship you keep for years.

Do my existing clients trigger any fees?+

No. Clients you bring with you, or who find your page directly, never carry a match fee — import them on day one and every booking is 100% yours.

Do my clients need to download an app?+

No. Your booking page and their portal run in the browser, from a link. Daybook itself is mobile-first — it installs to your home screen like an app today, and native apps are coming.

Is the meet & greet free?+

Your call — it's a service like any other, priced by you. Many providers charge for it and credit it toward the first booking; some waive it. Daybook just makes it bookable.

Do I have to approve every booking?+

Only if you want to. Per service, you choose: requests only, instant booking for returning clients (new clients still come through a request with the pet's record), or instant for everyone. Open slots can only be sold once — no double-booking.

What makes a review “verified”?+

It can only be written by the account that received a completed visit — one tied to a real, timestamped visit record. There is no other kind of review on Daybook.

Can I charge different clients different rates?+

Yes — rates are set per service and per client. Grandfather your longtime regulars, set holiday pricing, or keep one flat fee.

What happens to my data if I leave?+

You export it — clients, visit history, invoices, all of it. Pets' records belong to their owners and travel with them. No lock-in is the point.

How does Daybook make money?+

Two ways, both visible on this page: Pro and Team subscriptions, and the one-time match fee when the marketplace finds you a new client. Not from a cut of your work.
